Boyson Road from 12th Avenue to northbound Entrance and Exit Ramps will be closed for improvements to transition traffic to the new bridge.
HIAWATHA, IA – May 13, 2025 – Starting Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at 6:00 AM, eastbound and westbound traffic on Boyson Rd will be closed from 12th Ave to the northbound I380 entrance and exit ramps. This closure is required to allow the contractor to make the transitions from the existing pavement to the new bridge that was recently constructed.
Boyson Rd and the southbound I380 Exit ramp will open to traffic no later than end of day Wednesday, May 28, 2025.
Eastbound traffic will be routed south on 12th Ave to Blairs Ferry Rd, east on Blairs Ferry Rd, and north on Center Point Rd. Westbound traffic will be routed south on Center Point Rd, west on Blairs Ferry Rd, and north on 12th Ave.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other traffic signs in the work zone area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
