HIAWATHA, IA – May 13, 2025 – Starting Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at 6:00 AM, eastbound and westbound traffic on Boyson Rd will be closed from 12th Ave to the northbound I380 entrance and exit ramps. This closure is required to allow the contractor to make the transitions from the existing pavement to the new bridge that was recently constructed.

Boyson Rd and the southbound I380 Exit ramp will open to traffic no later than end of day Wednesday, May 28, 2025.

Eastbound traffic will be routed south on 12th Ave to Blairs Ferry Rd, east on Blairs Ferry Rd, and north on Center Point Rd. Westbound traffic will be routed south on Center Point Rd, west on Blairs Ferry Rd, and north on 12th Ave.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other traffic signs in the work zone area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.

HIAWATHA, IA – May 5, 2025 – Starting Thursday, May 8, 2025, Clymer Road from Thiher Drive to Robins Road will be restricted to one lane to allow for the installation of new water main and service connections. All traffic will flow in a counter-clockwise direction utilizing Daws Road and Thiher Drive before proceeding east along Clymer Road. There may be limited parking after 6:00 pm after the contractor leaves for the day. All vehicles must be removed from the street each day by 7:00 am or they will be towed.

This is a multi-phased project. This phase of work is anticipated to be completed by May 28, 2025. All traffic restrictions are expected to be completed by June 23, 2025.

HIAWATHA, IA – April 4, 2025 – Starting Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 6:00 PM, southbound Exit 25 (Boyson Road) Exit and Entrance Ramps will be closed for construction. These closures are necessary to provide a safe work zone while demolition and reconstruction of the new ramps take place.

The Exit ramp detour will be Blairs Ferry Road east to Center Point Road and North to Boyson Road. This exit ramp is expected to be closed until June 7, 2025, weather pending.

The Entrance ramp detour will be east to N Center Point Road, south to Blairs Ferry Road and east on Blairs Ferry Road to the interstate entrance ramp. This entrance ramp is expected to be closed until July 4, 2025, weather pending.
